We Are Made Foreign

Awarded the Joyful Abundance Emerging Artist Commissioning Award, Wang collaborated with composer Baldwin Giang to create “We Are Made Foreign,” a new choral piece to be premiered in June 2026 by the Mendelssohn Chorus of Philadelphia at Rodeph Shalom, the oldest Ashkenazic synagogue in the Western Hemisphere. ArtPhilly originally commissioned Joyful Abundance as part of the What Now: 2026 Festival, with lead support provided by the William Penn Foundation.

花心

A dynamic eleven-part song cycle, “花心” is a collaboration between Wang and composer Matthew Hodge. Adapting the powerful poem Wang performed at the National Youth Poet Laureate Commencement Ceremony into a musical piece, this song cycle features Staley Clark's voice. It is a work in progress that will be premiered at The Juilliard School.
